Whether they come as shambling corpses, seductive aristocrats, or blood-crazed predators, vampires hold a powerful place in the collective nightmares of cultures around the world. Every Monday in October we celebrate a nü metal-inspired horror film, as we take one step closer to the edge and embrace that people = shit. Teenagers everywhere found teeth-clenching solace in the melodramatic, self-loathing, nihilistic, impossibly heavy cornucopia flaying their ears, and it didn't take long for this sickness to spread to the silver screen. The year was 1998, and whether you liked it or not, nü metal was taking over the globe. Tim deLaughter said it really well: I know we’ll be just fine, If you learn to love the ride. The Music Box of Horrors: Dawn of the Drive-In will once again take over the Chi-Town Movies Drive-In for late shows Sunday-Thursday, and double-features every Friday and Saturday night. Like John Corbett (Max) said in the show, “It’s not a disease”. I know there are people out there who are against United States of Tara, saying it’s mean because the show is making fun of people with DID, it’s not! It actually gives you a better understanding of what people with this condition goes through and how important it is for the family to understand a person with DID. (Thanks Johan for the correction)Just click on her name if you want to listen to her songs in Myspace.Īnother band that really rocks was Buck’s song Souljacker Part I by EELS. This song really makes my toes curl *sigh* as well as “Lucky” by indie artist Kat Edmonson. Included in this happy mix in US of Tara, there is a cute song by Dawn Landes called Straight Lines. It’s a cool happy band, with harps, flute, and violins ? He brings that happy positive theme to the Tara theme. Go visit youtube and search for Polyphonic Spree if you want to see them perform live. The theme song of United States of Tara was done by Tim deLaughter of The Polyphonic Spree (without the oomph of Polyphonic Spree), It’s just Tim doing the vocals and you can surf the web till the cows come home, but you wont find a whole song for this track. We are now on the fifth episode, but I sure am going crazy looking for their songs.
